Captain Purple!

Who is Captain Purple?

During a recent family gathering in Kananaskis, we had the opportunity to head over to Nakiska - the downhill ski hill used, during the '88 Olympics. We shuttled over in a couple of vehicles since there was 7 of us. Once there - following the usual wait for tickets and rentals we convened at the bottom of the hill. There we met up with a couple of John's friends: Matt and Shirley. We were a great looking bunch of skiers and snowboarders!

Standing in line we waited to jump on the chairlift. A little breezy, but otherwise a great ride up the chair. Once at the top - the boarders sat down! Really guys do you have to sit!

The skiiers casually waited for the snowboarders to stand up. As we all stood at the top of the hill and looked at one another, I decided that someone should take the lead. Now this is not an unusual role for me, however, this is a sport where youth prevails! As I skiied away I could hear Kerry call out - "there goes Captain Purple."

This was definitely within keeping as Kerry would often refer to our Sunday dinner gatherings as: Team Webb Dinners - or something like that!

So Team Webb had a Captain, who could be seen very easily on the hill - easily identifiable in my purple ski suit! Hence Captain Purple.

I am looking forward to more Team Webb adventures and continuing my role as "Captain Purple"
